Strict Fire Ban in Gävleborg County

Due to the extreme high risk of fires in forests and the countryside, there are strict fire bans in effect from 13 of June, 1 pm in Gävleborg County. The strict ban is in effect until further notice.

The use of grills or the lighting of fires is no longer permitted. Not even in fixed barbecue areas that are designed so that there is no risk of fire spreading. Disposable grills or temporarily arranged barbecue areas of stones or logs do not meet the requirements for a safe barbecue area.

When the strict fire ban is in effect:

• Grill only on your own plot with coal / briquettes / gas on a fixed barbeque.
• Do not use a disposable grill as it is not a safe fireplace.
• It is forbidden to grill in fixed barbecue places in stone, concrete or similar. Temporarily arranged barbecue areas made of stone or logs do not meet the requirements for a safe barbecue area.
• Use camping kitchens or storm kitchens only if they are placed on a fireproof surface such as gravel or sand.
• Do not use pyrotechnic equipment outdoors.
• It is not allowed to light candles or marshals as they risk starting a fire. This also applies to grave lanterns in cemeteries.
